In the north of Extremadura, in one of the most beautiful places in the peninsula, at an altitude of 706 metres, it’s situated Baños de Montemayor, , little and friendly village, protected by the Gredos mountains, and it dominates from its privileged situation. It has a stable population of a 700 inhabitants, receiving every summer an important number of visitors, fact that doesn’t affect to the village structure and way, because it’s qualified for this summer population rise, having a large and varied hotel offer, characteristic of bigger towns, with hotels, hostels, guesthouses, rural tourism accommodations and camping.

Walks along its streets are placid and pleasant, still having the possibility to admire nowadays very good examples of popular architecture, and its two parish churches, Santa Catalina, from the 15th and 16th centuries, now closed to the cult and turned into an auditorium, and Santa María, from the 16th and 17th centuries, announced as a historical-artistic monument in 1982 in which the most remarkable thing is its curious tower with asymmetric plan.

Traditional basketwork having a bath in the chestnut tree, ceramics, furniture, presents, etc... that it offers in different establishments will give us the possibility to buy beautiful souvenirs and memories of our pleasant stay.
